The luxury Country Club at La Durantie will form the heart of this stunning development of French country properties for sale
The elegant Belle Epoque salons and terraces of the château are to be transformed in to the social heart of the development - the Durantie Country Club. Owners of the country properties for sale at the château, as well as ‘members’ from the surrounding community, will congregate here throughout the year to share meals, attend courses and events, swap tips and advice, and relax in a friendly, social atmosphere. The Club will be, in many ways, a ‘jumping off point’ to life in the wider local community - a friendly ‘hub’ in which to meet others who have moved to the surrounding area.Like the luxury homes at La Durantie, the Country Club will take advantage of the superb weather in this part of the south of France, spilling out of the formal rooms of the château to make use of the surrounding gardens. Winding pathways and nature walks will branch out from the Club through wildflower meadows and landscaped terraces, leading to the tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, pitch & putt golf course, and a full-sized croquet lawn. After a game with friends, you’ll be able to enjoy drinks and a meal on the Club’s Bistrot Terrace overlooking the pool.
The interior rooms of the Country Club will benefit from Wi-fi access throughout, and consist of a cosy library for reading or playing bridge with friends; a drawing room which can be rented for private parties; and a private dining room for sophisticated meals with other members or with your own private party. The château’s bistrot and bar also form part of the Country Club, where you’ll be able to sit on warm evenings sipping fine Gaillac wines and enjoy some of the best regional cuisine in France. The club extends beyond the château and into what were its agricultural buildings. Here, you’ll find ‘Le Moyeau’, a multi-purpose hall with a stage that will be fitted out with the latest facilities and used as a cinema and space for events, larger functions and courses. A number of smaller rooms will also be available for groups and as meeting spaces for ‘clubs’ set up for or by residents and guests. Another set of buildings will form ‘Le Saladier’ - spaces devoted to courses on wine and cuisine. Here, you’ll be able to learn all about the ancient art of wine-making from local vignerons, and take cookery courses from top regional chefs. Le Saladier opens out onto a terrace and rose garden where residents and guests can eat overlooking the croquet lawn. Next door, a number of artists studios will be created for those wishing to explore painting, sculpture and pottery, with yet another outdoor terrace, this time featuring a ‘cuisine d’été’ and BBQ.
The Country Club at La Durantie will come alive thanks to the concierge service centred here - a service available to all owners of the properties for sale, as well as their guests. A team of hotel-trained experts will be orchestrating a constant array of courses, trips, events and get togethers - all designed to make life at La Durantie as lively and interesting as possible. The Concierge Service will also be on hand to help residents with any other issues that might come up once they’ve moved in - everything from filling in paperwork to pool maintenance to getting help joining a local club. The bi-lingual concierge team will be arranging trips beyond the château as well, such as to local golf courses, to the area’s historical monuments or to wine tasting evenings. Larger excursions will also be planned, such as day trips to the Mediterranean, to historic towns in the west of France such as Albi and Castres, or up into the Pyrénées for skiing. Whether it’s learning to sculpt, attending a summer BBQ, going on a fishing trip or helping to organise a film festival, life at the château promises to be as stimulating and sociable as you want it to be. All of the properties for sale at La Durantie are a short walk from the tennis courts and croquet lawn. The concierge staff at the Country Club will be on hand to get people together for games in both of these sports - organising tournaments and leagues. And after the game? A chilled glass of rosé on the bistrot terrace perhaps...
Surrounded by one of France’s most famous wine-producing areas, the château aims to make the most of its prime oenological position by ensuring owners and ‘members’ get as much opportunity as possible to taste and learn about local wines. We’ll be organising tastings within the château itself, as well as tours of local vineyards and caves with trained professionals. Santé!
